As we bid goodbye to 2023, the Wisconsin Lions Foundation is excited about a promising year ahead in 2024. Thank you to the unwavering support of our incredible donors and Lions members, our Year-End Giving Campaign has been nothing short of remarkable.
Exceeding Expectations: A Remarkable Year-End Giving Campaign
Our Year-End Giving Campaign was a resounding success, surpassing our expectations. The goal was set at $20,000, yet the generosity of our donors catapulted us to an astounding $60,423.86! This extraordinary achievement speaks volumes about the shared belief in our mission of Reaching, Touching, and Improving Lives.
Fueling Positive Change Across Wisconsin
The funds raised in this campaign are not just numbers; they represent a lifeline for our projects. The Wisconsin Lions Foundation’s five projects are Lions Camp, Eyeglass Recycling, Diabetes Awareness, Hearing and Vision Screening. These contributions will directly impact these projects, fostering positive change in communities across Wisconsin and the world.
Lions Camp: Since 1956, Lions Camp has been dedicated to providing a quality camping experience for persons with disabilities at no cost. Our primary objective is to provide a fun, safe, and memorable camping experience, which will have a positive impact on the camper’s life.
Eyeglass Recycling: Our center is one of 19 Lions Clubs International Certified Recycling Centers in the world. Once the glasses are sorted, cleaned, read, and packaged, they are shipped to developing countries with little to no access to eye health services.
Diabetes Awareness: The Wisconsin Lions Foundation is committed to fighting the diabetes epidemic by raising awareness and educating communities and individuals about their risks. WLF and our partners have created a comprehensive program centered on prevention and risk reduction, with resources and awareness events available annually for our Lions and community members.
Hearing Assistance: The Hearing Project offers hearing aids free of charge, or at a low cost, to Wisconsin residents who qualify under our eligibility requirements. The hearing aids are funded by collecting used hearing aids and recycling them for credit, as well as donations from individuals, Lions clubs, and other organizations.
Vision Screening: Our Vision Screening Project is run in partnership with KidSight USA. The goal is to screen all children ages six months through 18 years for potential vision problems, emphasizing children enrolled in daycare centers and preschools.
