Wisconsin Lions Camp is celebrating another impactful summer in 2025, welcoming 1,007 campers throughout its 10-week season. Since 1956, the Camp has provided quality, free summer camp experiences for Wisconsin youth and adults with disabilities, and this year’s season carried on that proud tradition.
Campers represented a wide range of populations: 171 campers who are Blind or Visually Impaired, 336 campers with intellectual disabilities or autism, 204 campers with diabetes, 32 campers with epilepsy, and 264 campers who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Each week offered opportunities for campers to build confidence, foster friendships, and enjoy an inclusive community.
Participation spanned across all 10 Lions Districts in the state of Wisconsin. District B1 had the highest attendance with 158 campers, closely followed by A1 with 151 and D1 with 143. Other district totals included A2 (134), B2 (141), C1 (98), C2 (34), D2 (41), E1 (41), and E2 (66).
140 dedicated seasonal staff members joined the team, contributing their time for a week, several weeks, or the entire summer. Their energy and commitment ensured that every camper experienced a safe, supportive, and memorable week.
Located on 440 acres in Rosholt, Wisconsin Lions Camp offers a wide variety of accessible activities: swimming, boating, archery, performing arts, crafts, environmental education, climbing tower, ropes courses, and the famous mud pit/rope swing. Camp is designed to encourage independence, skill-building, and fun.
Wisconsin Lions Camp is owned and operated by the Wisconsin Lions Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit which runs five statewide projects: Lions Camp, Eyeglass Recycling, Vision Screening, Hearing, and Diabetes Awareness.
