The Wisconsin Lions Foundation (WLF) was honored to host Lions International President A.P. Singh and his partner in service, Past International Director (PID) Sanjeeta Jatia, for a special visit on Sunday, August 10, 2025. Traveling from their home in Kolkata, India, President A.P. Singh and PID Sanjeeta came to Wisconsin to see firsthand the impactful service projects carried out by Lions across the state.
The day began with a private tour of the Wisconsin Lions Foundation’s five statewide projects in Rosholt, guided by WLF staff. Stops included the Eyeglass Recycling Center, where donated glasses are sorted, read, and prepared for missions worldwide. PID Sanjeeta joined in a hands-on service project, reading eyeglass prescriptions to help prepare them for global distribution. The tour also showcased WLF’s hearing, vision screening, and diabetes awareness projects before moving to the fifth and final project: Wisconsin Lions Camp.
President Singh described the projects as ones that “rejuvenate the soul” and reflected on the mission of Lions Clubs worldwide:
“Lions clubs basically exist so that service can be provided so that the world may become a slightly better place than what it has been before.”
Following the tours, President Singh hosted a Town Hall Meeting attended by more than 100 Lions members from across Wisconsin Multiple District 27 (MD27). During the meeting, he inducted new members from the Grafton and Allenton Lions Clubs, answered questions, and met with the MD27 District Governors.
The visit also included special recognitions. Executive Director Evett Hartvig received the International President’s Recognition Medal, one of Lions International’s highest honors. Project Director Keith Mueller was awarded the International President’s Certificate of Appreciation for his work with WLF’s projects.
President A.P. Singh also issued a charge to the Wisconsin Lions Foundation Staff—calling for the preparation of a guiding document to help Lions organizations around the world establish and operate successful service camps, inspired by the Wisconsin Lions Camp model.
Situated on 440 acres in Rosholt, Wisconsin Lions Camp has been serving youth and adults with disabilities for 69 years, offering a wide range of recreational activities in an inclusive, supportive environment. From its 18-hole disc golf course to its waterfront, lodges, and specialized facilities, the camp is a testament to the vision and dedication of Wisconsin’s Lions.
Members of the public are encouraged to visit the Wisconsin Lions Foundation and see its projects in action. To schedule a tour, contact Public Relations Director Phillip Potter at ppotter@wlf.info or 715-677-4969.
